The Command Priorities Department, part of the Intelligence Center, helps the Combatant Command Intelligence Directorates (J2) mitigate critical gaps and shortfalls, identify relevant emerging technologies, and create advanced solutions to address mission challenges. Roles and Responsibilities:In this role, you will serve as a lead data architect, working to resolve the most difficult mission challenges faced by USSOCOM J2 military and civilian staff in Tampa, FL. Qualified candidates will have a strong Combatant Command or Intelligence Community background with demonstrated technical experience in advancing intelligence analysis, data analytics, scalable data architectures, and intelligence mission planning capabilities. As a data architect you will serve as a member of a team of MITRE professionals focused on leveraging various data sources to solve critical intelligence gaps and be required to:
Providing direct support to the J2’s Intelligence Data Science Team (IDST) through technical recommendations and assistance with the establishment of scalable data architectures that facilitate ingesting, cleaning, correlating, and analyzing large data sets to include both PAI, CAI and more traditional intelligence data sets
Providing recommendations and assessments for the adoption of various large language models, entity extraction resolution, audio transcription, and other data analytic techniques
Participating as part of MITRE’s on-site team to define, resolve, and deliver solutions to the most pressing technical challenges faced by the J2
Reviewing, recommending, and sustaining an effort to assist the J2 as they seek to improve situational awareness of the threat in support of operational requirements, and the full range of USSOCOM mission partners
Maintaining effective and responsive communications with MITRE leadership team, ensuring the accurate exchange of information essential to sustaining our strong relationship with the J2
Basic Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance
Typically requires minimum of 8 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; 6 years of experience with a master’s degree; 3 years of experience with a Ph.D.; or an equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
A strong understanding of intelligence support to Combatant Command leadership, the organizations of the Intelligence community, and their responsibilities in support of intelligence collection, analysis, processing, and dissemination in order to support Commander priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in computer science (or related science, technology, engineering, or math field)
Strong knowledge of intelligence processes and systems in use or relied upon by a Combatant Command J2
Recent programming experience with Python, R, Java and SQL
Recent experience with DevOps processes and associated tools (Git, docker, Kubernetes, Postgres, etc)
Recent experience with multi-domain intelligence data (PAI, CAI, traditional Intel), data processing (data pipelines, structuring, models), data storage, data governance, data transformation (APIs, transformation, data fusion), and data visualization
A clear understanding of the USSOCOM mission and related intelligence activities
Experience supporting the requirements of a CCMD Joint Intelligence Operations Center
