DescriptionFeed Mill SupervisorGENERAL SUMMARY: Oversee all activities and maintenance of a feed mill facility.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor feed sampling. Monitor preventive maintenance activities to ensure equipment and machinery are functioning properly. Complete all paperwork and reports associated with mill. Match feed delivery tickets, etc.SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties include scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of work as a Supervisor or Assistant Manager. Recommends personnel actions such as hiring, terminations, and/or disciplinary actions.DECISION MAKING: Decisions are varied and may require solutions to be developed.IMPACT OF DECISIONS: Decisions will have a significant impact on the work area/department.COMPLEXITY: Work requires the use of a variety of procedures, policies, and/or standards. Moderate analytic ability is required in the application of guidelines, policies, and procedures and in gathering and interpreting data in cases for problems of moderate difficulty or complexity.PROBLEM SOLVING: Solves problems by gathering, compiling, and sorting information. Problems are usually at the work unit or department level. FREEDOM OF ACTION: Works under limited supervision with periods of relative autonomy and general review. The position has the latitude to select techniques/processes within defined broad objectives and procedures to complete tasks. May periodically lead/supervise others.COMMUNICATION: INTERNAL; Internal communication is required on a daily basis with Clerical or Technical level positions. Communication requires moderate tact and cooperation to convey basic facts (e.g., scheduling and/or coordinating two personal calendars, resolving problems, and/or obtaining necessary information). EXTERNAL; External communication is required on a weekly basis with Professional or Supervisor level positions. Communication requires moderate tact and cooperation to convey basic facts (e.g., scheduling and/or coordinating two personal calendars, resolving problems, and/or obtaining necessary information).WORK ENVIRONMENT: Routine discomforts from exposure to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness, and unpleasant air conditions.   • The Feed Mill Utility Laborer is responsible for assisting manufacturing feed in accordance with standard operating procedures established at the feed mill. The Feed Mill Utility Laborer will be responsible for aiding in operating the computer automation systems required to receive ingredients, grind grains, mix and pellet feed. The Feed Mill Utility Laborer will assist in operat ing the processing equipment according to established standard operating procedures. In addition to feed manufacturing the utility labore r will perform housekeeping activities, quality checks on feed and ingredients, maintenance and repair of equipment. The Feed Mill housekeeping includes day-to-day housekeeping tasks, including the removal of dust and ingredient spillage from ledges, floors, equipment and other surfaces. The Feed Mill Utility Laborer is responsible for compliance with all company policies, Local, State and Federal policies, laws and regulations .
