Job Description: Ohio University’s School of Media Arts and Studies is seeking applications for a Visiting Professional to teach hands-on music production and technology courses in our thriving undergraduate program.The successful candidate will teach a 2-2 course load with additional responsibilities in the areas of advising and service. Courses to be taught include:
MDIA 2300: Music Production and Technology I
MDIA 3300: Music Production and Technology II
MDIA 3305: Music Production and Delivery
The courses are taught in the school’s world-class recording facilities which combine comprehensive analog and digital technologies and equipment.Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years full time work experience in the music industry as a producer, engineer, and/or mixer.
Up to date knowledge of legacy, current, and emerging music production technologies.
Expertise in Avid Pro Tools and Apple Logic Pro X.
Experience in recording and mixing musicians in solo, duo, and ensemble formats.
Experience in MIDI production technology
Preferred Qualifications:
Extensive production experience and demonstrable industry recognition.
A strong and identifiable discography of album and single releases.
Experience in a variety of musical genres.
Expertise in areas such as artist relations and session management.
An advanced degree in music production and/or audio engineering or substantial industry experience in music production and technology.
Prior teaching experience.
