JOB OVERVIEW:

The Distribution Manager is responsible for ensuring we deliver quality products on time and in full to the customers of Standard Fiber. The Distribution Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our distribution team, which includes the daily tasks, the long-term goals and the strategic initiatives that will ensure we meet our company objectives. The Distribution Manager will monitor their team’s work performance and address areas of need accordingly. The Distribution Manager will help to create and monitor the KPI’s, which will be used to set a standard level of service and performance.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for hiring, training, and leading the distribution team. The team will consist of supervisors, leads and workers across various departments within our distribution operation.

Develop and continually update strategic planning for distribution operations to provide maximum efficiency of space, labor, and capital investment.

Manage all distribution operations. Including but not limited to the timely receipt of all inbound freight and ensuring all outbound orders ship within our customer’s guidelines and on or before the “must arrive by date”.

Create and monitor the KPI’s designed to ensure we are achieving the level of service our customers expect.

The training and development of the distribution team, with a focus on continuous improvement. This includes training on our SOPs, machinery, scanning and other warehouse-related activities and requirements.

Monitoring of our physical inventory. Ensuring all processes are followed when it comes to the movement, picking and shipping of our inventory.

Providing leadership and guidance to the team of leads and supervisors who work within our distribution area. Conducting weekly meetings, updating and informing the leadership team of the targets, goals and company objectives.

Ensuring the entire distribution team operates safely and within all company guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

High School degree, diploma, or a GED equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.

3 -5 years of experience managing within a warehouse environment and supervising a staff of 20 plus warehouse workers.

Experience managing a facility with a WMS. WMS implementation experience preferred.

Experience in managing a facility with $5 million of inventory at cost and shipping to big box retailers such as Walmart and Costco.

Licenses/Credentials/Certifications

Forklift, Reach Truck certification.
