As a Patient Access Rep, you will get to interact with patients frequently; greeting them and their families, checking them in for services, and ensuring information is readily available for clinical staff.The Opportunity: MaineGeneral Health has an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of Patient Access Representative Professionals. Performs financial clearance, registration, and clerical duties associated with point-of-service (POS) services
Meets with patient or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation. Explains the process and addresses concerns and questions
Communicates with unit staff and other appropriate personnel to exchange necessary information and determine placement
Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization, and ensures verification of medical necessity as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays deductibles, and coinsurance, or refers to financial counselors for follow up
Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered into the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
You Have:
Relevant customer service experience
Excellent and demonstrated communication skills
1 year of patient registration, scheduling, or other clerical/customer service experience in a medical office setting preferred
Ability to keyboard accurately and quickly
