Housekeepers/Cleaners Posting Number S01244JP Department FM - Housekeeping Job Summary Housekeepers at the college are responsible for cleaning all residential, academic, and administrative buildings on campus. A Housekeeper’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Perform cleaning tasks according to established standards and schedules.

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, carpets, and furniture.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and fixtures.

Empty trash bins and dispose of waste properly.

Wipe down surfaces, including desks, countertops, and windowsills.

Restock supplies, such as toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap.

Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or issues.

Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly.

Notify management of any maintenance or repair needs.

Please note: This position is on-site in Brunswick, Maine and does not offer housing on campus.

Pay and Benefits:

Hourly rate for this position is $17.50/per hour (This role is eligible for overtime and shift differentials) and new employees in Housekeeping will receive a $500 Sign-Bonus(½ paid at first check and ½ paid after 90 days of eligibility requirements are met).

Education/Skills Requirements

Required:

Some High School education OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical computations

Establish and maintain working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and building occupants

Ability to work successfully both independently and in a team with minimum supervision.

Applicants must demonstrate superior customer service and communication skills and have a friendly, helpful, outgoing demeanor.

Flexible, dependable, punctual, and courteous.

This role will require a pre-placement physical and criminal background check.

Preferred:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Required:

At least six months of demonstrated experience in housekeeping or cleaning in similar setting (i.e., healthcare facilities – hospital, nursing home, or hotel).

Familiarity with cleanliness and sanitation standards.

Knowledge of cleaning products, techniques, and safety protocols.

Preferred:

Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning in a school or institution.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Available Shifts:

5:00 am – 1:30 pm (full-time)

Days of the week may vary. Special events and coverage may necessitate overtime hours, including weekends and holidays.
