Our CompanySacred Journey Hospice OverviewThe Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining Sacred Journey hospice inpatient unit in an uncluttered sanitized manner consistent with Sacred Journey standards.Responsibilities Maintain a pleasant demeanor and introduce self to family unit upon entering room each time. Maintain a high level of patient focused customer service. Use approved cleaners only. Assure all chemicals remain in original container or in approved labeled spray bottle per policy. Clean and sanitize each occupied patient room and bathroom daily and upon requested need per policy. Clean public areas daily per policy. Properly dispose of bio hazard material in designated area. Empty all trash daily. Mop floor with approved floor solution daily. Clean and sanitize public bathrooms daily per policy. Windex windows Keep all rooms uncluttered. Adhere to all infection control and environmental services policies. Maintain a clean and organized storage area for cleaning equipment and supplies. Maintain adequate stock of cleaning supplies. Report any malfunctioning equipment in need of repair immediately to charge nurse or maintenance. Utilize Basic infection control procedures and follow guidelines for universal precautions. Perform other duties as assigned consistent with skills and training and the mission and goals of the agency. Demonstrate a positive attitude and working relationship with staff members, volunteers, patients and families. Carry out duties and responsibilities of position in a manner that exemplifies excellent customer service. Consistently represent SJH to all internal and external customers ethically, with integrity and professionalism. Address patient’s needs by being responsive to phone calls and emails. Has a duty to report any potential misconduct or policy violation supervisor and/or Administrator Comply with SJH Standards, federal and state laws and regulations. Has a responsibility to participate in staff training and education programsQualifications Must have reliable transportation to and from work Must be able to relate positively and favorably to the patients, families and outside agencies and to work cooperatively with other Employees. Must understand and accept hospice philosophy. Must demonstrate organization, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities. Must comply with acceptable professional standards and practice.
