Job Title: Field TechnicianJob DescriptionConstruction Field / Materials Technicians will perform field inspections and observations for commercial construction projects. Employees will be fully trained in the use of the equipment necessary to accomplish their work.Responsibilities
Transport equipment, specimens, or documents to field personnel, clients, or other offices, and provide physical assistance in equipment set-up.
Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities, observations, and results.
Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, perform footing inspections with dynamic cone penetrometer, and inspect rebar.
Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications.
Interact with client representatives (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites.
Perform analysis or calculations to check the accuracy, applicability, and reasonableness of testing data.
Perform sampling or testing as directed.
Provide assistance to other field personnel.
Clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
Assist other technicians or professional staff on routine tasks.
Be placed in a progressively increased role of training and responsibility in work assignments.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Experience in testing, inspecting, and sampling in construction environments.
General labor and concrete handling experience.
Proficiency in field sampling and field inspection.
Basic computer skills.
Experience with soil and asphalt testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working outside.
Experience in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to bend, kneel, and reach.
Willingness to work long hours.
