Project Engineer

Precision Concrete Construction, Inc. (www.precision-concrete.com) constructs the most challenging concrete projects throughout the Southeast. Founded in 1986, Precision Concrete operates on a diverse set of projects throughout the construction industry. Projects cover market sectors such as retail, healthcare, entertainment, institutional, airport, heavy industrial and multifamily. Position Summary Provide support to facilitate the planning, and coordinating of activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. This is a full-time temporary position, scheduled to last at least 6 months and up to 2 years. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Works closely with Project Manager and provides support thereto through preparation and maintenance of project documents, records, reports and cost control.

Reviews shop drawings and submittals for compliance with contract documents.

Assists Project Manager in establishing and maintaining good communication with client.

Represent Company in project meetings as required.

Maintains sets of contract drawings, as well as current drawings, RFI’s submittals logs at jobsite and office.

Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.

Implement company quality control program. Coordinate with client quality control.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.

EXPERIENCE: Intern or Coop experience

SKILLS: Bilingual English/Korean (preferred). To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet software, Word Processing software, Scheduling Software (Microsoft Project or Primavera), and AutoCad. Strong leadership, management, organizational and communicative skills. Must be able to establish and maintain client relationships.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED: Must be able to operate computer and other office equipment such as fax, calculator, document reproducing equipment and communications equipment. Position also requires a valid driver license and must be able to operate a motor vehicle.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, standing, walking, bending and a normal range of hearing and vision. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires working outdoors with light to moderate physical exertion and included walking on steeped, sloped and uneven surfaces, temporary ladders, and stairs at job location.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS: Must be able to communicate, orally and written, in a professional manner. Requires public contact and excellent interpersonal skills. Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS: May be called upon to work overtime or odd schedules. Work is split between typical office setting and extended periods spent outdoors on jobsite location. Job location is Savannah, GA; requires travel out of town if candidate doesn’t live in the area.
