Adv degree may be used to reduce work experience by one year. 8 years of increasing financial responsibility, to include third party negotiations and interface with Procurement. Previous managerial/leadership experience preferred Position Purpose:Serve as strategic advisor and partner to all Procurement groups (new product development, initial phase, final phase, and product support) in setting companywide cost targets for the selection of suppliers and ongoing negotiation objectives to achieve these targets. The long-term and forward-looking financial implications of these decisions are presented to Senior Management, including the Leadership Team. Interprets company-wide policies and procedures. Plays integral role in developing operating policies and procedures for cost analysis and procurement. Evaluates the financial stability of Gulfstream supply base during the negotiation and supplier selection process. Provides counsel to Materials management with regard to supply base risks.Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:

Manages process for developing timely and accurate analyses and evaluations of supplier proposals (to include on-site fact finds and detailed cost breakdown reviews), and supplier financial stability. .

Ensures the processes are followed for communicating price changes for purchased material/components/parts/systems to Material Finance for the purpose of accurate and timely reporting of material lot costs.

Establishes, maintains, and manages the cost evaluation process of supplier proposals in support of the corporate policy for supplier selections and engages/supervises in supplier cost and price negotiations, to include contract terms and conditions with financial implications.

Ensures consistent practices and methods are utilized by Cost Analysis staff in the use of government-published cost and price indices and economic forecasts. This includes the use of appropriate price adjustment formulas for both evaluation/analysis purposes and sustained contract pricing.

Maintains an environment of continuous process improvement, both in support of operations and with financial/procurement processes.

Additional Functions:

Engages in the typical responsibilities of a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and controlling work activities of staff .

Leads research and identification of cost reduction opportunities and manages process for implementation. .

Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements:

Strong knowledge and command of cost build up process and ability to assess reasonableness of cost elements.

Working understanding of GAAP.
