This is not an inclusive list of all responsibilities included in chart check.
Insurance – Verify Eligibility, are we covered?
Does insurance require approval if so obtain
Is patient in Collections/TSI/CO or have current balance that needs to be addressed
Refer account to Patient Account Reps if call needs to be made about outstanding balances.
If patient is Self-Pay, make sure a GFI was given
Check to see if patient needs to do a demo update
Document in appointment amounts to be collected and if additional info is needed.
Handle calls from check in about new insurance that a patient has given.
Cover peer’s work responsibilities in their absence along with any other duty that your Manager assigns.
EXPERIENCE
Basic knowledge of Insurance Verification and Benefits.
At lease 1 year of experience in the Medical Business setting.
eClinicalWorks EMR experience a plus.
