Civil/Mechanical General Contractor seeking Project Manager (or Sr. PM)

Job Description:

Responsible for the on-site management of infrastructure related heavy civil / mechanical construction projects. Specific activities may include: budgeting, planning, scheduling, shop drawings, billing, contract management, manpower assignment and any other activities to manage the project. You will be required to properly administer contracts, contract modifications and change orders with Federal, State, local agencies and private clients. With the team members assigned to you, you will carry out project procurement in accordance with drawings and specifications and provide an accurate review of shop drawings in addition to vendor submittals. You must be able to analyze and plan detailed field construction activities and work with the field construction workforce to ensure that instructions are clearly communicated, goals are set, schedules are resource loaded and monitored, resources are on site in a timely manner, and all safety and health safeguards adhered to. You will be responsible for the safety and financial success of projects under your management.

Skills and Experience Priorities:

-Degreed Engineer with minimum 5-10 years' construction experience.

-Ability to understand civil and mechanical blueprints, familiarity with general specifications, codes, and standards.

-Ability to prepare shop and as-built drawings utilizing CAD.

-Computer literate, including spreadsheet development, estimating, budgeting, financial reporting, planning and scheduling programs, and word processing.

-Strong project administration skills including knowledge of contracts, claims / change order procedures, document / record organization, vendor print review, drawing and specification controls.

-Strong team player able to direct project teams, to communicate clearly and have strong writing skills.

-Understanding of field construction methods and techniques and able to direct field forces to execute work in a safe and efficient manner.
