Job DescriptionFounded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.The Critical Care Intermediary Unit or CCIU specializes in cardiovascular patients and a variety of other Intensive Care Unit step-down patients. The department’s highly trained professionals provide quality therapeutic nursing care for patients with acute or chronic problems and often work in collaboration with Straub Clinic & Hospital’s nationally recognized Burn Unit to ensure that critical burn patients receive the best treatment available for a fast recovery.As the Registered Nurse, you will have the opportunity to provide professional and compassionate nursing services to the Straub community through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of patient care in our Critical Care Intermediary Unit. You will also function as an associate to a charge nurse and begin to assume charge nurse responsibilities with time. Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) CPR cards. One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in Telemetry.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field. Two (2) years recent Registered Nurse experience in Critical Care Intermediary Unit. One (1) year recent acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Critical Care or Telemetry Unit.
