Maui Hub is looking for a General Manager

Maui Hub is a community-based nonprofit online farmers market connecting Maui-grown food directly to local families. Established in 2020, our mission is to strengthen Maui’s local food system, improve food security, and ensure equitable access to healthy, island-grown food all while supporting local farmers, producers, and food entrepreneurs.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a hands-on, community-driven General Manager who is passionate about local agriculture, regenerative food systems, and leading a small but dedicated team toward a more resilient Maui.

Position Overview

The General Manager oversees the day-to-day operations, finances, programs, and strategic growth of Maui Hub. The ideal candidate will not only provide leadership and vision but also be actively involved in daily operations assisting wherever needed to keep the organization running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership

Oversee Maui Hub’s daily operations, ensuring alignment with mission and values.

Provide hands-on support in operations, including packing, deliveries, billing, and customer service.

Maintain positive relationships with farmers, producers, customers, and community partners.

Support weekly online store operations, ensuring high-quality customer experiences and efficient logistics.

Marketing & Communications

Lead and create weekly newsletters, social media content, and community updates to strengthen customer engagement and awareness of Maui Hub’s impact.

Develop outreach strategies that highlight the importance of eating and shopping local.

Represent Maui Hub at community meetings, events, and collaborative initiatives.

Financial & Administrative Management

Oversee budgets, financial reporting, grant compliance, and operational sustainability.

Provide support in billing, accounts receivable, and producer payments.

Work closely with the Board of Directors on budget planning and financial oversight.

Team Leadership

Supervise and support a staff of 6–7 employees, fostering collaboration, communication, and shared purpose.

Support professional development and create a positive, inclusive work environment.

Lead weekly operations meetings to ensure alignment and problem-solving across teams.

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years of demonstrated leadership or management experience, ideally within food systems, nonprofit, or small business operations.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a willingness to be hands-on in daily operations.

Experience or familiarity with local agriculture, food hubs, or community food access programs is highly valued.

Excellent communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in basic financial management, reporting, and customer service.

Experience with marketing or social media a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

70,000 per year, based on experience
