JOB DESCRIPTION - KAPAA TEAM LEAD
Job Overview:
The Team Lead position (Assistant Manager) is pivotal for the success of any Holey Grail location. Team Leads are responsible for collaborating and supporting the Shop Lead (Manager) to build and nurture a positive team culture, ensure exceptional hospitality and product, lead hands-on training, and support day-to-day operations to reach or exceed shop goals.
The Team Lead spends the majority of their time leading on shift, motivating and coaching the team, ensuring quality product and guest experience, and managing tasks and breaks needed for successful operations.

Team Development & Leadership:
Collaborate with the Shop Lead to ensure new and existing team members are successfully trained utilizing training materials and platforms
Assist with hiring and conducting hands on training, platform progress, and check-ins for all team members
Coaching teammates to be their best giving positive and constructive feedback
Uphold shop standards and ensure team members are utilizing checklists and resources appropriately
Foster a positive work environment through growth and development
Find ways to build in appreciation and celebration for team members i.e. positive shout-outs on sling
Be the role model for operational excellence to your team, consistently exemplifying Holey Grail values and culture to positively reinforce exceptional product and guest experience
Business & Shop Operations:
Assist in leading day to day shop operations in tandem with Shop Lead to drive strong and ever-improving performance to meet or exceed financial KPIs and shop goals
Follow and uphold compliance of company, local, state, labor and health department policies for all team members
Master of Shift Lead and Donut Prophet roles; consistently role modeling exceptional skill and attention to detail of preparation, operations, cleanliness, and guest experience
Assist with completing purchase orders, inventory counts, and tip pooling distribution
Assist in creating a thoughtful work schedule for your team that balances individual, team, and shop needs while meeting our goals for efficiency and guest experience
Ensure daily prep and tasks lists are made and completed in a timely manner
Ensure high standards of product quality, taste, and aesthetics for every donut, drink, and food item served in your shop
Ensure every guest has a wonderful, hospitable experience
Ensure merchandise is well stocked and beautifully displayed
Monitor break times to ensure that team members take adequate breaks per local laws and regulations.
Communicate essential information in a timely manner and maintain confidentiality when appropriate
In the Shop Lead’s absence, take the lead on solving immediate issues and doing damage control, ensuring every guest leaves satisfied
In the Shop Lead’s absence, take the lead to serve and positively engage influencers and media
Collaboration:
Collaborate with the shop lead and team to strategize the implementation of product launches, team development, shop goals, areas of opportunity, and financial performance
Collaborate with the Holey Grail marketing and support teams to creatively engage influencers, your community, drive new customer growth, and deepen relationships with returning guests
Assist Shop Lead in providing timely documentation of feedback given to team members, time and attendance, status changes, injuries or safety issues, and other required documentation
Assist the Cafe Success team to improve training and guest reviews by providing feedback and insights

Able to assist with extra tasks, as needed, or when Shop Lead is unavailable
Able to perform maintenance tasks and train on those tasks, such as changing the fryer oil, cleaning the hood vent, and other tasks depending upon the locations.
Qualifications:
2+ years of retail/hospitality experience with a strong preference for coffee, food & beverage
Retail management/supervisor/shift lead experience
Available for full-time work required including variable hours and/or holidays
Available to work opening and closing shifts
Available to work at least 2 out of 3 weekend shifts from Friday - Sunday
Confident using computer programs and/or the ability to quickly learn Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, Calendar, etc.)
A passion for Holey Grail’s concept and mission
Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs
A valid driver's license and a vehicle
Existing Food Handler Certification is a plus
Comfortable operating commercial kitchen equipment such as dough mixers, blenders, and donut fryer

The starting pay for this role is $21 hour plus tips. This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime pay and eligible to earn tips.
