Looking for someone to look after my 92 year old mom. Must be female with some caregiving experience, preferably a nursing assistant (will ask for references). My mom is receiving hospice care, but that doesn't mean she will pass soon. Just means that the focus is now on keeping her comfortable (reduced meds, no more doctor visits, no calling 911). We want to keep her at home, but she needs 24/7 supervision. The job would require help with toileting, changing her clothes and bed sheets, feeding, and light housekeeping like disinfecting surfaces, sweeping/mopping, and sometimes a load of laundry or two. The hours would be 5am to 7pm on Fridays and Saturdays (with a 3 hour midday break) and 6am to 6pm on Mondays and Thursdays (2 hour midday break). My mom sleeps a lot during the day, so it's not that hard. She has dementia, so we are looking for a patient, kind lady (preferably someone who is Ilocano but not necessary), who will not get frustrated even though she says the same thing 20 times in a row.
Tuesdays would be a day off, Sunday mornings, as well as half of Wednesday. Anything over 8 hours/day we can pay $15-$20/hr (depending on your credentials and experience). That way you can have some spending money in addition to a place to live that is very close to the beach. We are not providing meals, but you can use any of our cooking supplies (oil, spices, even rice) and of course household supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, handsoap, laundry detergent, etc.
