Looking for someone to look after my 92 year old mom. Must be female with some caregiving experience, preferably a nursing assistant (will ask for references). My mom is receiving hospice care, but that doesn't mean she will pass soon. Just means that the focus is now on keeping her comfortable (reduced meds, no more doctor visits, no calling 911). We want to keep her at home, but she needs 24/7 supervision. The job would require help with toileting, changing her clothes and bed sheets, feeding, and light housekeeping like disinfecting surfaces, sweeping/mopping, and sometimes a load of laundry or two. My mom sleeps a lot during the day, so that part of the day isn't that hard. She has dementia though, and her day and night are switched so nights can be tough. We are looking for a patient, kind lady, highly prefer someone who speaks Ilocano, who will not get frustrated even though she can say the same thing over and over. Everyone I've met from hospice care is so nice and wonderful; that's the kind of caregiver we're looking for!
There would be some days and nights that you are off, just don't know for sure which ones because my brother's schedule is changing in October. On top of room and board, we could pay about $1,000/mo more depending on your credentials and experience. We are not providing meals, but you can use any of our cooking supplies (oil, spices, even rice). If you like to cook, I'm pretty sure my brother would buy food in exchange for meals :) And of course household supplies like toilet paper, paper towels, handsoap, laundry detergent, etc. would be provided.
