Description

We are looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to be part of our team which is dedicated to providing a caring, compassionate, top-notch Pediatric care in an intimate setting to the children of Oahu.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Prepares patients for examination and treatment by obtaining a focused history.

2. Obtains accurate measurement of vital signs using manual techniques.

3. Performs selected clinical duties including IM injections of medications and vaccinations and Point-of-Care testing such as Urine Dipstick, Rapid Strep & Rapid Influenza testing.

4. Assists Provider in preparing and performing minor surgeries and examinations.

5. Stocks exam rooms with necessary supplies and instruments.

6. Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to and after each Patient’s appointment utilizing knowledge of sterile technique and infection control procedures.

7. Assist in maintaining an overall clean office space.

9. Performs administrative duties such as maintaining patient charts, scheduling appointments, submitting referrals, faxing, scanning, and taking payments.

10. Triage and document telephone calls to answer patient questions, schedule appointments or to route to Provider for follow-up.

11. Maintain office supplies, clinical supplies, and office equipment. Report needed supplies to Provider.

12. Attends required Staff meetings (typically once-a-month, during lunch).

13. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

14. Follows the Office guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).

15. Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner.

16. Maintains established Office policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.

17. Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Office Mission and Code of Ethics and supportive of the Office's cultural diversity objectives.

18. Performs other related work as required.
