Martin & MacArthur is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to interface with the various departments of the company, including Manufacturing, Retail and Office workers. The perfect candidate should be knowledgeable, engaging and effective in all areas of the human resources.
Job Responsibilities:
Completes human resources functions in a timely and accurate manner, including: recruiting, hiring and terminating employees, payroll, worker’s compensation, benefit administration, employee relations, safety programs, record-keeping, and other administrative duties.
Builds and maintains relationships with all employees
Assists in diffusing employee issues/complaints in conjunction with the VP of Retail.
Oversees administration of HR/Benefits issues and ensures adherence to employment related laws
Keeps current on applicable laws
Maintains records in accordance with the law
Coordinates participation by employees in the benefit plan; seeks opportunities to market existing benefits and supplement with locally provided benefits as appropriate
Counsels managers and employees on effective ways to communicate and reinforce performance expectations and address and resolve employment related issues
Job Requirements:
2 to 3 years of experience in a Human Resources management, preferably in the Retail and/or Manufacturing Industry.
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State and Local labor laws.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion
Experience:
2 to 3 years in an HR managerial role preferably within the Retail and/or Manufacturing Industry
