Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science PCS seeks the following position for SY 2024-2025:

Full Time

Summary:

Performs typical custodial duties in school facilities including cleaning, general maintenance, grounds maintenance, and pest control. Performs maintenance and repair work in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment and surrounding area and also performs tasks such as: lifting and carrying heavy furniture and equipment; cleaning places and equipment which are not easily accessible; operating industrial equipment; transporting materials and equipment; performing simple building maintenance and repair work; and other duties as assigned. Works to create a school culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and high performance.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Valid driver license. Satisfactory traffic abstract. TB clearance.

Must have custodial, grounds maintenance and landscaping work experience.

Must have a variety of building maintenance and repair work experience.

Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Two years of progressively responsible work experience in one or a combination of the following areas: (a) janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting and cleaning of buildings; (b) grounds maintenance work experience including such activities as cleaning, watering, fertilizing, trimming, mowing, sweeping and raking; (c) general laboring experience such as moving materials, furniture and equipment; loading and unloading trucks; carrying, unloading and stacking tools and supplies for skilled craftsman; and digging trenches and ditches. Four years of work experience in performing a variety of building maintenance repair work or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Must be ethical and honest. Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, follow-through, and communication skills. Must be extremely flexible and able to work independently.

Must be able to meet professional obligations through effective work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others. Must be able to successfully analyze information, manage complexity, report results, enter data, and observe school and state policies as well as state and federal laws with attention to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness. Must accept responsibility and be self-motivated. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality with regard to employees, students and parents and work effectively with school staff, district personnel, and the general public.

Work Hours:

Full time, 40 hours per week. Schedule to be determined based on classroom and school needs.
