Full job description:

The Villages at Waipio seeks a highly motivated, goal-oriented, dependable, enthusiastic, friendly, customer service-oriented, and energetic person to join our maintenance staff.

The following position interviewing for:

GENERAL MAINTENANCE/CARPENTER

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in all phases of construction and multi-family building maintenance. The ability to be a self-starter and work with little direct supervision to complete tasks is essential. Daily duties will include property and grounds maintenance for the exterior of all buildings, common areas, and amenities.

Good communication and customer service skills are a must! This position will also require direct interaction with our residents while providing office coverage for lunches and time off when the Resident Manager requires it (training provided).

Skills required are carpentry, general construction, irrigation, pool, minor electrical, painting, pressure washing, and plumbing repairs and maintenance.

We do not perform any maintenance on the interior of any units on the property.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Construction and carpentry trades education or training is highly desirable.

Must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more consistently.

Prefer a minimum of two (2) years experience in residential building maintenance, carpentry, grounds upkeep, repair, and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, irrigation, and structural matters.

Knowledge of all phases of construction, preventative maintenance, and basic power tool usage skills.

Pool operation and maintenance with a CPO certification is required (training class and testing paid for).

Wage Range- $18-22 hourly DOE

SCHEDULE: 8-hour shift. Monday through Sunday, 40+ hours weekly. This position requires every other weekend rotation schedule on Saturday, Sunday, and holidays for pool maintenance with a minimum of 2 hours of pay per day. Make-up days, holiday coverage, and weekend rotation changes can be arranged with the Resident Manager.

WORK LOCATION: On-site in person daily.

Vacation and sick pay accrued are after a 90-day probation period.

Medical and Dental insurance is provided through UHA or Kaiser Permanente.
