What we are looking for…
High School Diploma or GED
1+ year experience or training in carpentry, light plumbing work, light electrical work, painting, refurbishing and cleaning
Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass background investigation and drug test screening
Always operating within OSHA standards and company safety policies and procedures
All specific certifications required by law and successfully complete all required courses, classes, and training provided by Michaels.
Ability to read, speak, and comprehend work instructions and safety notices in English
Knowledgeable and skilled in the safe use of maintenance tools
Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, on call, and overtime as needed
What your typical day will look like…
A schedule of 40 hours per week to include evenings, weekends and holidays if required for emergency, on-call or scheduled shifts. Overtime hours may be required
Inspecting units, building and common areas and proactively reporting any issues found
Initiating action to correct unsafe conditions
Custodial and janitorial assistance as needed
Completing accurate records regarding preventive maintenance and work orders
Maintaining current and accurate inventory of supplies and notifying supervisor of purchasing needs
Making sure storage areas and entrances are locked and maintaining adequate lighting in these areas
Ensuring effective, timely and professional interactions with residents, contractors and property management team on all services provided
Performing basic electrical repairs, carpentry work, flooring, small appliance repairs, changing locks, flooring, wall repair, painting, etc.
Standing, walking, lifting and pulling up to 75 pounds, driving
Performing other duties as assigned
