STEADFAST HOUSING DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION incorporated as a non-profit entity in 1989 and combined experts in housing and behavioral health services to provide an independent living housing program for adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses. We are actively recruiting one (1) full-time Housing Support Coordinator within the Supported Housing Program on Oahu. The annual salary for this position is $35,568 or $17.10 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.

What do you have to do?
a) Provide housing advocacy and other supportive services to eligible Ohana CCS targeted population;
b) Assist the consumer to identify and implement related housing goals to maintain housing placement;
c) Maintain collaboration with designated service providers to assure the consumer’s stability in the home;
d) Assist eligible consumer in meeting tenancy requirements (ie. rent payments and other lease requirements etc.);
e) Help mediate landlord/tenant issues as they arise and assist the consumer with issues relevant to fulfilling the lease agreement requirements;
f) Provide follow-up services to the consumer in maintaining their home through periodic in-home (or phone) visits;
g) Provides regular encouragement, advocacy and supports to the consumer with enthusiasm and professionalism;
h) Assists the consumer to apply and/or transition to other types of “long-term” housing assistance such as Section 8, Rent Supplement or Public Housing;
i) Maintains security and confidentiality of consumer information;
j) Prepares internal reports, completes related program forms, maintains a daily log of activities and completes progress notes related to support visits.
k) Participates in SHP team meetings and monthly clinical supervision meetings; participates in service provider treatment team meetings as necessary;
l) Participates in assigned public or private educational programs, seminars or in-house trainings to continuously improve competencies;
m) Responsible to meet performance expectations;
What do you need to qualify for the job?
o High school diploma or GED equivalent
o Valid Hawaii Driver's License
o Clean driver’s abstract with no more than 3 violations within the last 3 years
o At least one (1) year experience working with the “special needs” population is desired.
o Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
o Available to provide on-call support and response after hours.
o Position requires use of own personal automobile with current registration, safety check and insurance. Mileage reimbursement allotted to employee when traveling for work purposes.
