Job Title: LAHAINA Warehouse Support
Department: Operations
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Lahaina Warehouse Support is responsible in performing a variety of clerical & manual tasks associated with the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food products including using QuickBooks to track and log inventory, packing orders, unloading deliveries, re-packing food products, operating warehouse equipment and general maintenance and cleanup. This position works directly with the Lahaina community, community organizations, donors & vendors to effectively accomplish the mission of Maui Food Bank. It is important that this person display professional behavior and a “no job is too small” type of attitude.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Performs a variety of general warehouse duties including packing customer orders, unloading deliveries, re-packing of food products, general maintenance, and janitorial duties in warehouse.
Assists in unloading and loading product onto/from trucks. Weigh, scan, salvage, and store food following the Feeding America Audit Guidelines. Assures accurate record keeping and quality of deliverables. Places products in appropriate storage racks and assists warehouse with proper inventory practices.
Responsible for checking the daily route and assignments on a daily basis.
Operates motorized forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment with the warehouse in a safe and efficient manner.
Operates Maui Food Bank trucks/vehicles to pick up local donations. Maintains travel logs and other documentation accurately and as required.
Maintains optimal operation level of MFB vehicles including oil, gas, fluid levels, battery, tires, washing interior & exterior weekly, cleaning, pest control, etc. and reports any problems to the Warehouse Manager.
Maintain records of operations. Report accidents and operational problems immediately, submit daily vehicle maintenance log to the Warehouse Manager.
Assists in monthly, quarterly, and annual inventories.
Assists in the daily operation of the warehouse and other related activities as required or assigned by the manager.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
Participates in Food Safety Trainings, Opps Huddles & Pre-Shift Morning Huddles
Assists with Maui Food Bank responsibilities for the NALC Food Drive
Comply with all federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Working evenings, holidays, special events, project work, and weekend hours as needed.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the required knowledge, skills, and/or ability typically required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
1 year of warehousing, driving or related work experience.
Experience with food products and working in a nonprofit environment is a plus.
Experience in food safety (Good Manufacturing Practice), sanitation and hygiene, pest control & food defense.
Safe driving record, valid driver’s license, current vehicle insurance, and ability to use personal vehicle for Maui Food Bank business.
Ability to obtain job-specific certifications (food safety, forklift, etc).
Ability to email and use technology to complete tasks.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
EQUIPMENT, MACHINES, TOOL, VEHICLES USED:
Forklift, Electric Pallet jack, Trucks, Maui Food Bank Vehicles, Power washers & other warehouse/maintenance equipment.
Ability to execute tasks using a computer workstation including keyboard, mouse, printer, xerox, and hand held radios a plus.
Basic Email, Inventory programs a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk while moving heavy bins. Occasionally, deliveries and pickups are made up stairs. This position regularly is moving, standing and lifting.
HOURS AND PAY
Monday-Friday and occasional weekends
6:30am-2:30pm or 8:00am-4:00pm
Starting pay depends on experience $20-$22
