Remote Schedule Coordinator and Dispatch

Our company is a small (rapidly growing) family run dumpster business. We are searching for the right person to take customer calls to schedule dumpster drop offs and pickups as well as coordinate routes with up to a team of ten. Like most jobs there is a busy time and a slow time. Early in the week this position often requires constant phone time. Closer to the end of the week the phone calls are not as abundant.
This is a fulltime, salaried position. While there are no set office hours the phone can start ringing as early as 6:30 AM to as late as 6PM. As someone who accepts this position, you will be expected to answer those calls. The beauty of this job is you can take phone calls anywhere though I recommend at home early in the week because the phone does not stop ringing. Later in the week I often work while my kids play at the beach or playground.
Because this is an at home position you will be required to use your own phone for taking calls. We have a call forwarding feature so when we miss a call it will go straight to you. Because you will need to call return customer calls, they will have your personal number as well. You can operate from your cell phone via a software app, but it will be easier if you have a larger screen. We will provide necessary equipment if you do not have.
The ideal candidate is a very nice, gracious, and a well-mannered person naturally. We are looking for someone who is kind, soft spoken and most importantly has a lot of patience. You must speak good English. You will often communicate with people who have a thick accent or do not know much English at all. It is important that you speak slowly and clearly for them. You will be a constant communicator between the drivers and customers. Customers may sometimes rush you or be frustrated because the drivers are running behind. Drivers may sometimes be frustrated because of wrong addresses or bad communication in general. As the main coordinator you must have patience, listening skills and the ability to help smooth a rough situation.
It is important to understand you are being paid to answer the phone. That means your phone needs to be charged. Our business is outgrowing us. We are blessed to be very busy. Please don’t waste our time getting hired if you won’t do an excellent job. We are running our business, raising our kids and spending time with our elderly family and church. Time is very precious to us. Please don’t waste it. We just need help so that we have more time to be a family.
We are looking for someone who lives locally and plans on living in Hawaii for the rest of their life. This is a permanent position. If you know you plan on moving to the mainland in the future and you are hoping to take this job with you, I am sorry that will not happen.
