Full job description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Elementary Classroom Music Teacher to inspire students from preK through Grade 6. The ideal candidate will foster a joyful and inclusive environment where children explore rhythm, melody, movement, and musical expression. This position is very part time - Wednesdays, 10:30am-12pm (instruction), plus one prep hour per week.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with state and national standards
Introduce students to a variety of musical genres, instruments, and cultural traditions
Lead classroom singing, rhythm activities, and movement-based learning
Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music across the curriculum
Maintain a safe, respectful, and creative classroom environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education (preferred) or related field (Master’s preferred)
Valid teaching certification for elementary music (or eligibility to obtain)
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Experience with Orff, Kodály, or other music education methodologies a plus
Passion for working with young children and fostering musical growth
