Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all .Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.The EHS Emergency Services Technician Supervisor at Micron Technology, Inc., is responsible for managing and developing technicians that are responsible to provide initial response to emergency events, coordinate intervention/mitigation efforts, ensure technicians provide proper follow-up and documentation for each event and routinely inspect safety equipment site wide. Supervisors are responsible for providing a safe, compliant and ethical work environment as part of supervising technicians and communicate the priorities for all shift activity.Safety & Quality:

Ensures the team completed all required safety training and conducts all work in accordance with Micron and Technology Development (TD) safety policies

Stops work for safety if unsafe conditions and/or behaviors are identified

Ensures the team follows job hazard analysis (JHA/JSA) for work being performed

Ensures the team follows all safety and environmental procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including PPE, CoHE (lockout /tagout) and chemical safety

Follows-up on safety and quality related issues immediately and works towards resolution with collaborators

Actively participates in the EHS program by reporting all EHS-related concerns or problems immediately (maximum 24 hours)

Performs and facilitates audits and submits good catches

Ensures the team always wears appropriate PPE, per JHA, supervisor, EHS professionals, and/or job designation

Proactively finds opportunities to reduce potential hazards which may impact personnel health and/or the environment

Ensures the use of proper lifting techniques and works in an ergonomically correct manner

Follows proper change management practices to ensure safety and quality expectations are met

Drives quality improvement initiatives in their area to reduce Fab impacts, improve efficiency and identify cost savings

Ensures the operation and maintenance of equipment and tools within manufacturer’s and company guidelines to ensure safety and quality expectations are met

Ensures area-specific procedures and documents exist and submits updates to content when needed

Protects and safeguards employees and company resources

Communication & Teamwork:

Provides team with consistent communication on priorities, goals, performance metrics, company updates, and department expectations to ensure understanding and line of sight

Meets face to face with their team and other partners regularly to gather input and build rapport

Makes recommendations related to preventative maintenance and other non-routine issues

Collaborates with area leaders to create personal performance and development goals

Partners with key team members to monitor data to continuously improve critical metrics

Partners with team members to resolve equipment/process issues and increase system stability

Communicates proactively with leaders and team members on the daily priorities and issues

Attends and participates in meetings, critiques and provides input

Ensures pass down is accurate and reflects the current work status

Partners with area leaders and collaborators to gather input for area improvement

Communicates changes made to equipment and follows business rules for change control

Proactively communicates issues that could cause Fab impact, defects, tool restrictions, or lost moves

Maintains communication on shift, with leadership across the site

Ensures Technicians provide direction to all response personnel during an emergency response

Supports 24/7 operations through various overtime programs

Performance Management:

Understands all expectations of the team and holds them accountable

Owns and is accountable for the performance and behavior of the area

Ensures team members complete all assigned tasks to meet critical deadlines

Implements to area, goal, and performance landmarks and metrics

Defines and communicates organizational roles and job descriptions to meet the overall expectations of the team

Coaches and develops team and team members

Oversees workforce readiness and proficiency by developing effective training plans and mentors

Meets regularly with new hires to ensure expectations are understood and training is progressing successfully

Meets regularly with team members to review performance, provide feedback, and create development plans using SuccessFactors

Partners with team members to create challenging performance and development goals

Partners closely with HR partners and knows Micron policies

Ensures the area has succession plans for all key positions

Provides guidance to identify, develop and promote technical expertise (process, device, equipment, etc.) and innovation

Recognizes and rewards team members both privately and publicly for their successes

Possesses high energy and a vision for the future with a growth mindset and is a viable candidate for future succession planning over the next ten years

Establishes a succession plan for all critical positions

Technical/Data Analysis:

Maintains applicable technical knowledge to make informed decisions and drive area improvements

Ensures team perform technical tasks

Ensures team follow general instructions on new assignments

Accountable for the area/shift performance and drives team accountability

Monitors equipment and area performance to resolve issues and improve area stability

Ensures team identifies and reduces equipment defects to improve quality

Uses a systematic problem-solving technique to resolve issues in a timely manner

Assigns team members new assignments

Leads shift/area cost reduction activities

Drives a culture of Safety and Quality including TPM, Facilities Disciplines, PM procedures and certifications

Drives a culture of TPM including TPM metrics, CIP items, MTAGs, and procedures

Ensures the team maintains applicable subject area knowledge, such as EMT skills, Hazmat and confined space rescue, etc.

Ensures the team responds to medical, chemical leaks/spills, gas releases, Hazmat, and confined space rescue events

Ensures the team documents events in appropriate Micron documentation event tracking system, such as Enablon and SAP

Ensures the team functions as Emergency Response Team (ERT) Captain

Maintains all certifications for self as listed above

Project Management/Planning:

Supports or manages area projects to ensure deliverables are completed within required scope and schedule

Participates or leads project meetings and completes assigned actions

Partners with leader to prioritize project action items

Tracks actions and provides escalation path to ensure actions will be completed on time

Uses a systematic project management methodology to develop, prioritize and manage projects.

Responsible for planning, scheduling, staffing and team member relations for one or more shifts of the Emergency Services group. Oversees and provides direction for all functional responsibilities of the applicable group. Maintains and generates documentation related to the group. Responsibilities (1) Planning: Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Determines skills, materials, and equipment required to do the work. Redirects individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work. Informs the supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimate labor and other resources. Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. Assists the supervisor with quarterly funding distribution and decisions, based on operational needs for units supported by customer activities. Reviews funding requirements, prioritizes request and allocates funding based on readiness, training, and mobilization requirements. Provides management with workload data, estimates, and recommendations to facilitate more effective management decisions for staffing and funding requirements to support customer units. (2) Work Direction: Assigns tasks to be performed based on readiness and explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within authority to resolve work problems. Recommends solutions to staffing problems, engineering requirements, and work operations directed by other supervisors. Ensures work in progress and completed work meets established standards by implementation of a quality control and assurance program within the organization. Ensures equipment repairs do not exceed maintenance expenditure limits in accordance as established by regulation and or policies. Manages maintenance backlog through coordination with other maintenance activities. Evacuates and accepts equipment, repairs, and services to and from other maintenance facilities. Assures tools, special tools, test measurement and diagnostic equipment, personal protective equipment, repair parts, petroleum, oils and lubricants, and other materiel are available when needed. (3) Administration: Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Initiates recommendations for promotion or reassignment of subordinates. Ensures that regulations governing safety and housekeeping are observed with appropriate protective clothing and equipment being utilized. (4) Performs non-supervisory work, such as, transporting equipment, performing maintenance tasks, etc. (5) Develops, publishes, and ensures employee compliance with standing operating procedures for the activity supervised. Implements and complies with agency, state, and federal regulatory Occupational Safety and Health, and environmental requirements. Ensures use of quality conformant products through compliance with established materials shelf life programs. Ensures all aspects of Force Protection to include physical security, facility and vehicle key control, property accountability, access control and employee protection in accordance with established policies and regulations. Implements procedures to account for all real property, installation property, MTO&E (Modified Tables of Organization and Equipment) property, TDA (Tables of Distribution and Allowances) property, and installed equipment located at or assigned to the facility in accordance with state and federal regulations and policies. Ensures subordinates are trained, qualified, and equipped with proper personnel protective equipment, environmental mediation equipment and materials. Ensure the employees wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. (6) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies.
