Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.Position Purpose: Supervises daily activities of the operations’ water transmission and distribution systems, maintenance programs, and construction and repair efforts to ensure its operational efficiency, dependability, and to deliver a customer experience which differentiates Veolia from peers and competitors.Ensures that customer, company, governmental, and regulatory requirements and standards are consistently met. Requires the exercise of considerable knowledge of water distribution system operations policies, procedures, and laws. Responsible for emergency crew activities after hours.This position requires very strong leadership, communication, mentoring and coaching skills, and a thorough understanding of the transmission and distribution system, various technical systems used, and Idaho Public Utilities regulatory rules with a focus on policy, process adherence, and drive for improvement.Primary Duties/Responsibilities: SupervisionSupervises, plans, schedules, and directs departmental personnel with regard to: repairing, replacing, and installing main lines, services, fire hydrants, valves, meters and associated appurtenances; raising, lowering or relocating facilities as required, and operations and maintenance performed by department employees and/or outside contractors.Conduct staff meetings and feedback sessions, and ensure appropriate work communication among personnel and departments. Perform regular monitoring and performance feedback.Assists in evaluating, selecting, implementing, and operating departmental tools and resources necessary for successful department operations.Provides oversight to T&D department programs, identifies staff training needs, provides and delivers recommended training solutions such as: leak detection, valve exercising, meter replacement, hydrant maintenance, large meter testing, air relief and pressure reducing valves, proper working ergonomics, and troubleshooting technical system issues etc.Regulations/Rules/Standard Operating ProcessesCoordinate the response of other departments to Idaho Public Utility Commission complaints & resolve complex customer issues.Remain abreast of and ensure implementation of relevant IPUC rules and regulations.Ensure departmental compliance with all environmental, health, and safety policies and requirements, and/or take corrective action to resolve safety concern(s). This includes but is not limited to conducting safety training, accident prevention awareness, and maintaining associated records.Reports/Department ImprovementsRun, review, and monitor various daily/monthly reports to ensure department activities and operations are in line with expectations. Communicate issues, progress made and trends to T&D Operations Supervisors, T&D Manager, and Director of Operations.Review and approve time sheets and other reports as deemed appropriateEstablish work procedures and processes that support company and departmental standards, procedures, strategies, and metrics.Continuously improve work processes, and document the same via Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).Participate on special management projects as necessary.MiscellaneousSupervises annual and periodic distribution system flushing activities.Makes field investigations for road permits; prepares and submits road cut permits and sediment and erosion control plans. Prepares and submits traffic safety plans.Must be available to respond to emergency situations.Acts in the capacity of the department manager as needed.

  • Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC SUPERVISOR, Position Description Number D0735000 and is part of the ID AASF, National Guard. THIS IS A TEMPORARY PROMOTION FOR CURRENT MEMBERS OF THE IDARNG AASF. SELECTED MEMBER WILL RETAIN TENURE AND RETURN TO PREVIOUS APPOINTMENT UPON RETURN. Responsibilities (1) Planning: Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations. Establishes deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods and policies. Determines skills, materials and equipment required to do the work. Participates in the initial planning of current and future work schedules and development of budget requests. Provides workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as the scheduling of projected work. (2) Work Direction: Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures. Instructs subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas. Reviews work in progress or on completion. Makes adjustments as necessary to effectively and economically accomplish the work. Notes and investigates work related problems and independently implements corrective actions which can be taken without affecting work operations controlled by other supervisors. Assures that equipment and materiel is available when needed. Coordinates work with other units. (3) Administration: Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies. Schedules and approves leave of subordinates. Sets performance requirements and makes formal and informal performance appraisals. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for its accomplishment. Counsels employees on problems. Adjusts informal complaints through discussions with employees and union representatives. Takes informal corrective action on conduct or performance problems. Initiates proposals for disciplinary action where needed. Works to achieve the objectives of Government-wide programs and policies, e.g., equal employment opportunity and labor management relations. Promotes the participation of subordinates in programs such as the suggestion program, cost reduction program, etc. Ensures that regulations governing safety and housekeeping are observed with appropriate protective clothing and equipment being utilized. Maintains production reports and records. Periodically reviews position descriptions of subordinates for currency and accuracy. Initiates the detailing of subordinates to positions other than their own. Initiates or participates in review and improvement of work methods, organizational features, and the structuring of positions to eliminate unnecessary positions and achieve optimum content in those remaining. (4) Performs the nonsupervisory work of the function as needed. (5) Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. (6) Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operation, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or to serve as a team member on boards to cope withnatural disasters or civil emergencies.
