Green Builder of Custom Homes Seeking Skilled Carpenter

We are looking for a qualified rough and finish carpenter with proven experience and an individual with an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will also have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The primary purpose of this job is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong, sustainable energy-efficient structures, multi-family and single-family.

Promptness, good work ethic, flexibility, and experience are critical to this work.

We are a green design/build company specializing in custom homes in the Boise Valley and surrounding area. This company has been in business for 40 years, over 10 years ago it transitioned into the first green building business in Idaho. Each one of our jobs is unique, involving great attention to detail, follow-through, and the willingness to learn new techniques and approaches to deliver quality craftsmanship time and again.

Responsibilities

Rough carpentry

Wood framing (Conventional Framing, Timber Frame, Post and Beam)

Concrete forming and Foundation Work

Finish carpentry

Door/window trim-out, baseboard, and crown molding.

Custom Cabinet construction, and pre-fab cabinet installation

Must have all hand tools and reliable transportation:

Circular Saw, Cordless Reciprocating Saw (Sawz-All), Cordless Oscillating Saw (Fien or

Dremel)

50’ extension cord heavy gauge and 50’ light gauge extension cord

Tool belt with a speed square, carpenters square, Framing Square, 25’ tape measure, finish pry bar, Demo Pry Bar, torpedo level, 4’ level and 6’ level, Nail puller, Nail punches, 25’ tape measure, Framing Hammer, Finish Hammer, utility knife, Chisels.

Small Compressor, Framing Nailer, 15 Ga. Finish Nailer, 18 Ga. Finish Nailer, 100’ of hose.

Cordless Drill and Impact Driver with a variety of bits and many batteries with (2) chargers

Hard Hat, Leather boots, and Gloves.

Requirements

Proven experience as a carpenter/handyman

Able to provide references

Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is highly valued.

40 hours/3.5 days (M-Th) on-site in Lowman, Idaho
