Join us and build an extraordinary future.About This Role:The Events Program Managers (PMs) are content planning and product leaders within the events organization with direct or indirect responsibility for all aspects of a Forrester conference. PMs lead the content development for events, which encompasses aspects of our attendees’ content experience before, during, and after each event, from theme and concept development to content creation, special program development, onsite execution and delivery, and post-event wrap-up.The Events Program Managers collaborate on the experiential strategy for their conference portfolio, creating impactful networking, entertainment, and other related experiences for event attendees, speakers, and sponsors. This is a temporary role with an assignment duration of one year.Job Description:
Lead events that provide content, education, networking, and solutions to the world’s marketing, technology, customer experience, and business-to-business leaders. Forrester’s current events portfolio includes 11 global conferences.
Oversee the overall content strategy and agenda build for your portfolio in collaboration with partners in research.
Partner with the key stakeholders in the event ecosystem to understand and meet their expectations for the events.
Develop and document new business processes for any aspect of an event – from early preplanning to onsite experiences.
Lead a client advisory board in your portfolio, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis that ensures your events align with the target market needs and expectations.
Create/influence marketing and brand positioning for your portfolio, providing guidance and strategy to marketing colleagues continually in event lifecycle.
Understand and have command of the competitive landscape for your portfolio, both events and related like consultancies, associations, etc., leveraging competitive insight to adjust planned event execution.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the subjects, both in Forrester and external sources of content, as well first-hand expertise aligned to their portfolio. Understand the roles/personas our business serves and the clear alignment to Forrester’s research portfolio.
Building partnerships and strategically influencing collaborators — both internally with key stakeholders like group research directors or marketing leads and externally with potential content providers such as consultants or associations.
Provide ongoing insight on the portfolio’s progress to key executive stakeholders.
Job Requirements:
Ideally more than five years’ experience in conference content or program management/strategy functions, preferably in corporate conferences/events industry.
Command of business process and event planning templates, with the ability to adjust or create new repeatable business processes where needed.
Experience in managing matrixed/virtual teams of colleagues from C-suite to entry-level across the organization to execute your portfolio plans.
Process and project management skills.
The ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced learning environment.
Time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects.
Computer skills — proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Event management systems experience is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
The ability and willingness to travel between Forrester offices and to select events approximately 15% of the time.
