Description We are seeking a meticulous Legal Assistant to become a part of our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be performing various tasks including managing schedules, handling phone calls, and maintaining legal documentation. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.Responsibilities Efficiently manage and coordinate calendars and schedule appointments and depositions Handle incoming phone calls in a detail oriented and prompt manner Maintain and organize legal documents and files to ensure their accuracy and accessibility Summarize medical records accurately and promptly Prepare court filings and oversee the filing process Utilize case management software for efficient and effective case handling Write abstracts as part of the process of summarizing medical records Build and maintain positive and detail oriented client relations Use Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), and CompuLaw for various legal tasks Administer claims and carry out billing functions Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, demonstrating flexibility with time. Requirements Proficiency in Aderant software is essential for managing legal practice and case management. Must have a working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat for document handling and editing. Familiarity with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for real estate transactions is required. Experience with any Case Management Software to manage, track and report legal cases. Knowledge of CompuLaw for managing deadlines and court rules is a must. Ability to handle Billing Functions effectively, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing. Proficiency in Calendar Management to schedule and keep track of all appointments, meetings, and deadlines. Must have experience in Claim Administration, including processing and managing legal claims. Excellent Client Relations skills are required to maintain and build relationships with clients. Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for conveying information effectively. Experience in handling Medical Malpractice cases will be a significant advantage.
