The Workers' Compensation legal assistant enhances attorneys’ effectiveness by developing case information, evidence, and settlement options; tracking cases; supporting attorney's trial proceedings. This position will support multiple attorneys with the preparation of documents for cases.Job Functions:Transcribing dictationElectronic filing via the CompFile systemKeeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software.Enhances trial proceedings by organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed.90% of the job is typing and transcribing dictation, coordinating depositions and IME’s, maintenance of files, including file aways, and coordination of court appearances.Fast paced and accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Other duties as assigned.
