The spacious bar area is perfect for enjoying cocktails and dinner after a day exploring the city and the private dining space with views of the open kitchen is ideal for intimate special events. In the warmer months guests can enjoy the large patio along Michigan Ave. The bistro is currently open daily for breakfast and lunch and dinner. Happy hour specials are available Sunday-Thursday, and the popular mimosa brunch deal is offered daily.

Job Description

LM Restaurant Group is looking for a talented Dishwasher to join our team at Grant Park Bistro. The primary focus of this position will be responsible for ensuring sanitation and safety in the kitchen and restaurant. You will be responsible for properly cleaning all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, etc, and general restaurant housekeeping. LM Restaurant Group values their employees by providing a safe, constructive, and positive work environment.

What will I be doing?

As a Dishwasher, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Set up, stock, and breakdown of workstations.

Maintain, load, run and unload the dishwasher with utensils, glassware, cookware, plates and trays in a fast and efficient manner.

Hand wash items when needed.

Ensure all dishes are clean and sanitized before they are put away on dish racks or used by team members.

Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately.

Must have a tolerance and knowledge of cleaning products and chemicals.

Testing water temperature and chemical concentration in accordance with city regulations.

Sanitation

o Maintain a clean workstation throughout the entire shift.

o Sweep, Mop and sanitize the dish room, kitchen floors, walls and hallways during and at the end of each shift.

o Ensure trash is taken out and never overflowing.

o Ensure trash cans are cleaned thoroughly on daily basis.

o Ensure all kitchen and bar floor drains are sanitized and cleaned on a weekly basis.

o Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues.

Complete opening and closing side work tasks.

Must have a basic understanding of kitchen equipment/machinery/cleaning products and chemicals.

Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude.

Occasionally assist with prep cook duties

Perform other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction

What are the Requirements/Skills needed?

Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.

Knowledge of commercial dishwasher equipment and chemicals

Knowledge of Sanitation Kitchen machinery including but not limited to the cooktop, oven, fryer, dishwasher, vac-seal, and sous-vide.

Other Duties & Tasks

Must be able to stand for 8+ hours.

Ability to carry heavy boxes.

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and 60 pounds on occasion.

Ability to walk, stand, kneel, reach, climb, balance, stoop, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend, twist, squat, and do repetitive motions regularly throughout shift.

Ability to safely handle sharp tools like knives on a regular basis.

Ability to work in wet, hot, and cool conditions.

Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to stay calm under pressure.

Well groomed, professional appearance

What are the Qualifications?

1+ years of Dishwasher experience in a trendy high-volume restaurant (preferred)

Food Handlers certification within 30 days of employment

High School diploma/GED (preferred)
