The role involves representing Mindful Baking—a 100% gluten-free and vegan bakery—at multiple weekly, offsite events. Each shift includes: picking up baked goods from a commissary kitchen, setting up a farmers market stand/pop-up market booth to sell the goods, and returning to the commissary for closing tasks.

The ideal candidate must be available to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, early evenings, and weekends, and have access to their own reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities:

Handle all aspects of Mindful Baking’s offsite markets and events as listed below.

Maintain market supply boxes and inventory records to ensure that the stand is always fully stocked.

Communicate with the Owner and bakery staff on a weekly basis to discuss any issues or changes in inventory needs.

Stay up-to-date on weekly offerings/new products so you can answer customer questions.

Prepare supplies/products for all events on a given day.

Day of event tasks:

Pick up supplies and baked goods from the commissary kitchen and transport them to the farmers market stand.

Set up and take down the farmers market stand, including arranging products and ensuring that the stand is clean and presentable.

Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, answer questions, and provide information about the products.

Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently, and accurately report transactions and opening/closing inventory.

Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times.

Ensure all supplies are returned to the commissary kitchen and properly cleaned/stored/restocked at the end of each shift, and that all unsold goods are properly stored.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must have access to a reliable vehicle, with proper dimensions for transporting all goods and supplies (folding table, tent, multiple coolers, etc.).

Must be available to work evenings and weekends.

Must have excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Must be customer-service-oriented and sales-driven.

Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.

A basic knowledge of vegan and gluten-free products is a plus.

An interest in supporting vegan companies and small, independent businesses is a plus.

Cafe experience and desire to pick up occasional extra shifts at the Mindful Baking Cafe is a plus.

Salary: The salary for this position is $16 per hour, and includes the following benefits:

1 free baked good and beverage per shift worked, plus a 20% employee discount on all cafe food, drinks, and merchandise. Everything we make is vegan & gluten-free!

Mileage reimbursement for getting to/from the bakery and various markets/events.

Fun seasonal opportunity with room to grow for the right candidate.
