WORK SHIFT - We are somewhat flexible to start as a TRIAL TRAINING PERIOD any day of the week from approx 8am- 8pm (or whatever you have available at this time). Eventually we are seeking a LIVE-IN person for either WEEKDAYS or WEEKENDS (or whatever days work out for two caregivers). We have “tried” using only one, live-in caregiver, working 7-days a week and this has NOT worked. the work load during the day from approx 8am-8pm is demanding. The caregiver gets burned out after a few weeks and we have found a person needs 1-2 days off to regenerate. We also need an alternate person in the event of an emergency. However my mother sleeps easily through the night 8-10 hours without issue so the caregiver will have approx 8-10 hours of time to themselves.
PAY:
You will be trained and tested for a day or two and once you appear to know what to do without my help so I can return back to my job then you will be paid.
WEEK DAYS/ Monday- Friday:
8am-8pm: $200/day ($4000/mo)
LIVE-IN Monday- Friday $250/day ($5000/mo)
OR
WEEKENDS:
8am-8pm: $200/day ($1600/mo)
LIVE-IN ($250/day, $2000/month)

We are a private, Northshore FAMILY seeking experienced, quality care.
We are looking for the right people to replace our current caregiver who has medical issues.
Our mom is 85 with stage 3 Dementia and sundowner. You MUST have experience with patients with this condition and have a training certificate.
She sleeps VERY well, usually 8-10 hours sleep so you will get plenty of time to yourself and to rest when working the LIVE IN shift. She naps at least 1 hour a day. However she needs help with bathing and the toilet keeping sanitary and changing her pads and depends underwear, meals, light housekeeping, and constant companionship. She does not like being alone or abandoned for long periods of time. She can be very warm and funny and then be angry and shift personality. You must be prepared for this. If you do not have decline on how to navigate this please do not apply.
REQUIREMENTS:
- DEMENTIA CARE TRAINING/CERTIFICATE including sundowner syndrome. You must understand various techniques for managing the variable personality shifts (taking care of your grandmother on weekends does NOT count). Please indicate which certificate and training you have and be prepared to present this during an interview. Note: we have had several caregivers apply claiming they are experienced and after working a few days it’s clear they are NOT experienced at all.
- VACCINATED and her regular vaccine boosters. If you’re against vaccinations please do not apply.
- BE AVAILABLE TO START WORK IMMEDIATELY.
- SPEAK ENGLISH WELL: Patient needs conversation and companionship. She likes to talk. NO TRANSLATOR APPS.
- REFERENCES: Must provide recent VERIFIABLE references with proof of payment from your last job reference… if you have been fired from a caregiving job please do not apply. We do a VERY thorough screening and background check.
- BE PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY FIT. Must be able to help patient in and out of bed and to toilet. This requires some strength. If you’re overweight and have a bad back or knees this is not the job for you.
- BATHING and TOILET: showering patient, and assisting with toilet ( changing adult diapers, pads etc….
- HOUSEKEEPING: You must be a clean and organized person. clean bathroom, vacuum, dishes, laundry, kitchen counters etc…
- MEALS: must be able to cook basic, tasty meals: salad, hamburgers, pasta, vegetables, sandwiches, eggs toasts bacon….
- MEDICATIONS and VITAMINS:
- COMPANIONSHIP: take her for walks to the forest or park in her wheelchair when weather is nice. Spend time talking with her. She can be moody and she can get angry sometimes. Other times she is happy and pleasant. You must be prepared for this.
