Armitage Oral Surgery is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Oral Surgery Assistant. Our mission is to provide compassionate care of the highest quality to every patient every day, through integrated assets of scientific knowledge, clinical experience, cutting edge technology, and dedicated customer service and compassion. As an Oral Surgery Assistant, you will assist with pre-surgical care and education, vital tasks during surgeries, and post-surgical care. During surgeries, you will monitor vital signs and anesthesiology equipment, provide chairside assistance to the surgeon, and sterilize and store instruments after use. Candidate must have an outgoing personality, demonstrate professionalism, be punctual and detail oriented. We are a growing and extremely busy practice that is in need of a self-motivated candidate that is looking for a long-term position with our practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Greet patients and perform pre-surgical preparations (review medical history and consent, give pre-op instructions and answer questions, and take patient vitals).
Assist the oral surgeon during surgery and sedation process.
Provide post-operative instruction to patients regarding healing and care.
Operate x-ray equipment.
Disinfect, sterilize, and store equipment after use.
Ensure operatories are turned over and sterilized promptly.
Consistently contribute to creating a smoothly running, high-morale practice.
Take advantage of continuing education, competency development, and growth opportunities (i.e., meetings).
Requirements and Qualifications
Prior dental knowledge (Preferred)
High school or equivalent (Required)
Strong communications skills and a calm demeanor in stressful situations
Availability on weekdays and rotating Saturdays (due to the nature of oral surgery, there may be a need to work longer hours to accommodate emergency patients and schedule alterations.)
