Job Description: The Dental Receptionist's primary responsibilities are to provide the patient with an outstanding experience through the check-in and check-out process. In addition, the receptionist will assist will all facets of the dental practices business operations including scheduling, accounts receivable, insurance claims, etc.
Essential Functions:
- Provide outstanding customer service for the patient; Daily interaction with Patients (Greet, Check-in and Check-out)
- Lead by example; exercise good team-work; have mutual respect for team; partner with team to create an exceptional experience for patient.
- Perform at a highly efficient and accurate level to help maintain doctor's schedule and patient flow; be present, engaged, ready to work at all assigned shift times.
- Verify Patient Insurance
- Daily Calls to Patients (Recall Appointments, Verify Appointments and New Appointment Requests)
- Daily Accounting (Deposit Payments, Patient Statements, Collect Patient Portion and reconcile Patient Accounts)
- Review Patient's charts and notes daily and assist other staff with Patient's conditions
- Partner with doctors, hygienists, and support staff to maintain excellent patient service and integrity within the organization
- Have knowledge and understanding of dental terminology sufficient to perform job successfully - Verify patient health history (basic health review, medications, understanding impact with dentistry) and document appropriately in patient's chart.
- Accountability for successful performance of all job functions
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Dental Receptionist is a strong plus.
- Experience in a professional environment with direct patient contact
- Experience with Eaglesoft Software preferred
