A mid-size Chicago law firm seeking full-time Docket Specialist. The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter with a high level of attention to detail and must possess the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must also be able to work well in a team environment while being able to independently follow through on a task from start to finish with minimal direction. Job Description:

This position will involve coordinating the firms' docket needs for our attorneys. This involves opening new cases, saving court documents, scheduling hearings, managing court calls, processing orders, and assigning trial dates. In addition, the docket specialist must be able to handle other overflow assignments as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Track, analyze, process, and save court filings on court electronic docket sites.

2. Administer Firm’s docket database. This includes substantive review of court filings to determine if the documents

are needed for processing, enter necessary case related information into data fields within the case management

software, send to-dos and emails to attorneys, calendar hearings, depositions, trial dates, etc.

3. Maintain attorneys’ calendar to ensure all deadlines are being met.

4. Process and review large volume of court filed documents in high volume asbestos litigation jurisdictions.

5. Assist with searches and extraction of information needed from court databases at attorneys or paralegals request.

6. Assist with auditing docket databases to ensure accuracy of docket process.

7. Making occasional trips to nearby court.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in similar role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Previous law firm docketing experience (2+ years)

Must be familiar with court dockets, court procedures, and electronic filing websites. Preferably in Cook County, St.

Clair County, Madison County, McLean County, St. Louis City, St. Louis County, etc.

Must be detail-oriented and possess a high level or organizational and time management skills.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to meet tight deadlines with accuracy.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and

demands.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Previous law firm experience

Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
