A Leading Food Manufacturer of soups, sauces, gravies and meats products SEEKING (4) Machine Operators to operate the Retort Machine in the Food Plant with 2+ years of experiences.
STARTING PAY RATE 19.00 & PAY INCREASE AFTER YOU COMPLETE PROBATIONARY PERIOD
AFTER 480 WORKED HOURS BECOME FULL-TIME EMPLOYEE OF THE COMPANY
PRE-PLACEMENT SCREENING: Homeland E-Verify, Drug Test and Criminal Background Check

SUMMARY:
Person is responsible for daily setup and operation of the Retort Machine, and ensure correct formulas are implemented and documented on "Thermal Processing Record" and LogTech computer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Place the circular recording chart in the proper position on the recorder so that the pen arm indicates the correct time of
day
Write the number and date on each recorder chart
Check the electric clock to ensure it reads the correct time of day
Control retort with LogTech computer using a keyboard to insert data through on-screen prompts
Record an accurate initial temperature (IT) on "Thermal Processing Record"
Reposition tipped cans in retort stainless steel basket to stand in the upright position
Operate crane that loads and unloads stainless steel basket in retort
Tighten or loosen nuts with ratchet to open or close retort
Perform sensor check and notify supervisor if problem occurs
Check bleeders to ensure they are open and free from obstruction (stream only)
Obtain correct temperature from "Processing Schedule" to heat the upper drum
Enter processing information including the number of different products, product code, actual can code, number of
containers, and initial temperature into LogTech computer
Check the recorder chart for accuracy at least twice per cook
Enter mercury and chart reading into LogTech computer
Record all pertinent data listed on the "Thermal Processing Record"
Notify the Quality Control Technician of any deviation from the prescribed time and temperature
Maintain regular and acceptable attendance
Any other activities as directed by a supervisor and/or manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
Ability to be held accountable for one's conduct
Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
Ability to accurately communicate to supervisor the nature of any problem that may occur
REQUIREMENTS:
H.S. Diploma or GED and able to communicate well in English, read and write
Six (6)-month apprenticeship followed by an assessment given by management which consists of performance
observations and testing of comprehension (employee must receive a passing grade prior to qualifying as a Retort
Operator)
Person must be physically fit "Heavy Job and Hot Temperature": Stand all day, bend, scoop, reach, and lift up to 50-100
pounds
Cannot have peanut allergies or other nut allergies

2ND SHIFT WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday to Friday from 1:15 p.m. - 9:15 p.m. and available for OT and Saturday pending on work orders
