POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in the troubleshooting, dismantling, rebuilding, repairing and maintaining of existing machinery and equipment. Works along with others on the installation of both new and existing equipment. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Observe and listen to operating machinery or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and determine the
need for adjustments or repairs
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, as scheduled
Dismantle, rebuild and reassemble machinery using hand and power tools
Installs wiring of electronic devices as instructed
Assists in the installation of a wide range of new and used equipment
Assist in wiring new electrical panes by following electrical print
Assist in the installation of both water and electrical plumbing
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to read and interpret basic maintenance manuals, basic diagrams/blueprints
Competency in performing basic mathematic calculations
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Efficient time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with consistent accuracy
The ability to read and communicate information and ideas both in spoken and written form in English so others will
understand
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Six (6) to twelve (12) months of experience working in a maintenance group, maintaining and repairing mechanical and
electrical issues
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee operates within a plant environment and routinely uses various tools and operates various machines. The employee is exposed to vibration and loud continuous noise from operating machinery.
PHYICALLY DEMANDING:
While performing the essential functions of the job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk, use hands to handle, grasp and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crawl or squat as well as lift up to 50 pounds.
