Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC machinery, specifically turret punch presses, press brakes, and shears, with a focus on precision and efficiency. This position will be responsible for producing high-quality metal parts and components using our advanced equipment, including the Murata Vectrum 3056 CNC Turret Punch, 10′ Darley EHP 175 CNC Press Brake, and Cincinnati Shear Machine. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the fabrication process, ensuring accuracy, adherence to safety standards, and the timely production of parts.

Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain CNC machines, including the Murata Vectrum 3056 CNC Turret Punch, Darley EHP 175 CNC Press Brake, and Cincinnati Shear Machine, to fabricate sheet metal parts according to blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specifications.

Set up and adjust machines, tools, and equipment to ensure optimal performance and accurate fabrication of metal components.

Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine material requirements and specific operations for each project.

Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met and perform quality control checks on finished parts to ensure they meet specifications.

Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and resolve any machine or production issues promptly.

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure smooth operation and minimize downtime.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following all safety and environmental regulations.

Ensure compliance with all safety standards and operational guidelines to minimize risks and accidents in the workplace.

Assist in material handling, including loading and unloading sheet metal for fabrication processes.

Keep accurate records of production processes, machine maintenance, and inventory levels.

Qualifications:

Proven experience operating CNC turret punch presses, press brakes, and shears in a sheet metal fabrication environment (experience with Murata Vectrum 3056, Darley EHP 175 CNC Press Brake, and Cincinnati Shear Machine is a plus).

Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, including punching, bending, and shearing.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.

Familiarity with CNC programming and machine setup procedures.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.

Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.

Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other team members.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Technical certification in CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, or a related field.

Previous experience working with Murata Vectrum 3056, Darley EHP 175 CNC Press Brake, and Cincinnati Shear Machine.

Familiarity with quality control processes and inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and gauges).

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.

Experience with forklift operation and material handling in a manufacturing setting.
