Clinical Services Supervisor

The Safer Foundation is a social service provider to individuals with arrest and conviction records. Through a full range of services, including case management, educational instruction and advocacy, we focus on preparing individuals for the world of work by helping them find and keep productive and meaningful employment.

General Summary:

Under direction of the Clinical Operations Director, the Clinical Services Supervisor supervises, assigns, and reviews the services of professional counseling/therapy and clinical case management staff. Working within a multi- disciplinary team, the Clinical Services Supervisor will be responsible in providing clinical supervision for all counselor/therapists, clinical case managers, and providing clinical support for other wellness center programs. The Clinical Services Supervisor will work closely with the Clinical Operations Director in program and curriculum development for the counseling center. Additionally, the Clinical Services Supervisor will provide support in clinical trainings on the IM+CANS and ASAM assessments for new team members and serve as direct backup in providing clinical services when needed.

Communication and Collaboration - Weekly staffings are conducted to review new and existing clients and progress in the program. Expectations of staff are communicated, and necessary follow-up is provided.

Communication and Collaboration - Processes are developed with other internal or external departments or programs involved as necessary to expedite processes and remove barriers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Interface

-Maintain a caseload of no more than 5 clients and completing assessments/evaluations as needed.

-Supervising and monitoring all intake assessment, treatment planning, and case management services provided to clients.

-Work with Clinical Operations Director on developing ongoing professional trainings to provide clinical team including but not limited to clinical interventions, documentation, policies, and procedures.

-Conduct case conferences with counselors, managers, and other clinical staff weekly. Review and sign off on all case records required and in compliance with all Federal, State, County, or funders, for counseling staff.

-Develop, support, and guide clinical team in establishing professional goals through performance supervising and completing mid and annual performance-based reviewed.

-Work alongside Clinical Operations Director in building the mental health program.

-Coordinate with other departments as necessary providing clinical oversight and/or consultation as needed.

Stakeholder Outreach and Recruitment

-Alongside the AVP, Behavioral Health and/or Clinical Operations Director attend any internal and/or external behavioral health meetings and/or event relative to the justice-involved population.

Tracking, Document and Reporting

-Documenting all clinical supervisions in accordance with state licensing and credentialing standards.

-Create and implement various clinical documentation, procedures and guidelines using the Carelogic programing function.

-Review client case files monthly and provide feedback to clinical team during individual supervisions.

-Gather, synthesize, and present all clinical data for grant reporting alongside Clinical Operations Director on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.

Fiscal Reporting and Accountability

-Work alongside Clinical Operations Director in preparing for state annual audits and site visits.

-Assuring (in conjunction with the Quality Manager) all services are provided in compliance with regulatory, contractual, and revenue cycle requirements.

Supervision of People

-Documenting all clinical supervisions in accordance with state licensing and credentialing standards.

-Train and supervise staff on proper documentation, procedure, and protocol, troubleshooting issues and coaching on performance. Elevate issues requiring structural changes or input up to the supervisor, as necessary.

-Complete mid-year and annual performance reviews, corrective action plans, when necessary, review and approve timecards and request for time off and expense reports in a timely manner.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Passion for social justice and start-ups

-Hands-on experience and self-sufficiency with Microsoft productivity tools, including Outlook (for email), Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and online collaboration tools (video conferencing, Zoom/Teams, messaging).

-Strong clinical/clinical supervision skills in both substance use (Rule 2060) and mental health (Rule 132/140).

-Understanding of life experiences of clients with criminal records’ past or current justice-system involvement.

-Strong programmatic and operational experience: Ability to conceive intricate operational processes and take from concept to reality.

-Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams; running treatment programs/units within larger complex government or social service agencies

-Able to operate in fluid environment.

-In-depth knowledge of ASAM Patient Placement Criteria and appropriate drug testing guidelines

-In-depth practical knowledge of HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2

-Familiarity with the use of Electronic Health Record software to document notes/services; Experience with Qualifacts, CareLogic system is a plus

Education and Experience:

-At a minimum, a master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other health service related field required.

-Licensed as a LCPC, LCSW, Psy.D, and/or LPHA required.

-Certification as a Certified Alcohol and/or Drug Counselor through IAODAPCA/ICB is preferred.

-Minimum or providing 1 -2 years of clinical supervision required.

-Experience documenting services in electronic record systems required

-Previous experience working for a Medicaid-certified SUPR or CMHC provider required
