What this Job Entails:
The Data Center Field Technician II performs or assists with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Network and Server infrastructure assets in Data Centers, Colocations, and Edge facilities. They are a mobile force capable of moving between locations, working on a diverse array of gear, and interacting with other technicians.

Works on complex assignments requiring a high degree of initiative
Requires minimal oversight and reports to a team leader
Project Details:
3 Days - (Nov 4-6)
Likely three shifts/day 8 hours each.
Compensation:
$45-50/hr depended on qualifications and experience.
Your Roles and Responsibilities:
Takes a journeyman role in installing, moving, decommissioning, and troubleshooting hardware, including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, fiber/copper/other cables and cable management, servers, storage, network, firewall, and other devices within the Data Center and outside of it
Confirm and label devices, racks, and cables
Work in a standard ticketing system, providing clear, timely, and appropriate customer communications
Work under the direction of a more senior Data Center Field Technician, the Site Operations Supervisor, and/or Operations Manager; and follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Program Policies, Safety Policies, and Security Policies, while meeting requirements for quality and quantity of work.
Perform design redlining and produce detailed reports and documentation
Maybe be required to fulfill on-call duties on a rotating basis

Required Qualifications/Skills:
Maybe be required to fulfill on-call duties on a rotating basis
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 4+ years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
High attention to detail and ability to ensure and follow other technicians’ direction to ensure quality
Performs multiple tasks and ensures deadlines
Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise
Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to respond to any On-Call request within 1 hour, while on-call.
Effectively utilize ticket, inventory, and dispatch management systems
Experience cabling systems (power/copper/fiber/other) correctly based on Statements of Work, ticket requirements and/or SOP standards
Experience working with CAT5e and CAT6 copper cable and multi-mode and single-mode fiber
Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities, conditions, and circumstances
Strong organization skills
Basic knowledge of computer hardware
Basic understanding of networking components and infrastructures
Basic knowledge of copper and fiber test equipment
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Understanding of Data Center best practices (i.e. basic fault tolerance, cable routing, calculating power usage)
Experience with cable management and knowledge of how to run fiber and copper in a data center
Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures
Able to operate material handling equipment – server lifts, pallet jacks, and forklifts (if certified)
Proficiency working with standard desktop PC tools and applications, such as MS Office, MS Outlook, web browsers, etc.
Ability to learn new software
Working knowledge of networking components and infrastructures, including Wi-Fi
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications in Networking, Server/IT infrastructure and Data Center technologies are desired
