Role Description:
We're seeking a skilled Logistics Coordinator/Dispatcher to join our team! You'll play a critical role in coordinating and scheduling transportation services, communicating with drivers and customers, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely delivery. Responsibilities:
Primary:
Coordinate shipments, including routing, scheduling, and assigning drivers
Consolidate shipments from multiple sources into a single, efficient load, minimizing costs and maximizing capacity.
Communicate with drivers, providing route information and updates
Track shipments, monitoring status, and updating customers on delivery
Manage logistics, coordinating with warehouses and terminals for smooth operations
Handle customer inquiries, responding to questions, and resolving issues
Secondary:
Optimize routes for efficiency, cost reduction, and improved delivery times
Manage driver schedules, hours, and performance for regulatory compliance
Ensure safety and compliance protocols are followed
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation
Troubleshoot issues, implementing solutions to minimize disruptions
Additional Responsibilities:
Plan and optimize loads to maximize capacity and reduce costs
Select and manage customer/broker relationships, negotiating rates and services
Audit freight bills for accuracy and compliance
Participate in special projects, such as process improvements and technology implementations
Qualifications
Transportation and logistics experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Familiarity with transportation management systems
Knowledge of geographical areas and routes
