RSG is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Field Site Manager (FSM) to oversee and coordinate field staff for a large-scale intercept survey conducted for Pace Suburban Bus in the suburban Chicago area. This temporary position involves varying shifts, including early mornings (as early as 4am) based on project needs. The FSM will be responsible for supervising individual surveyors, ensuring the smooth operation of the survey, maintaining daily communication with all parties, and addressing any performance issues that arise to meet project goals. The position will run from early March through early April 2025. Ideal candidates are team-oriented, energetic, responsible, and skilled at motivating and managing people.

Location(s):

Education and Experience:
High school diploma, ideally with experience working in fast-paced professional environments.
Responsibilities:
Report to the Pace suburban bus garage each morning (see locations above) to ensure surveyors board the correct buses and field operations run smoothly
Coordinate with subcontractors to schedule surveyors and find replacements for no-shows
Ensure surveyors follow data collection procedures and attend scheduled shifts, reporting any late arrivals or absences
Prepare route packets with all necessary materials (surveys, count sheets, pencils, envelopes) ahead of shifts
Maintain close communication with RSG staff on fielding progress
Assist with surveyor training and badging
Log completed surveys into the tracking system
Perform QAQC on distribution sheets
Reassign surveys and surveyors as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Previous experience with data collection, ideally with supervisory experience desired but not required
Extremely conscientious, organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and flexible
High attention to detail and a good sense of quality control
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and on a team
Basic proficiency with MS Office tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel)
An ability to interact with the public
A high degree of personal accountability to ensure timely, systematic, and consistent performance of tasks
Approximate Hours:
Approximately 40-50 hours per week.
Some early starts of shifts (4am shifts start) and some late shifts (end around 9pm); any shift will be approximately 5-9 hours.
Pay Range:
$22 - $27/hr.
