Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job Summary:The individual hired for this position will collaborate with the software platform team, L6 machine system teams, and application leads to support a common software architecture and ensure adherence through integration guidelines. The individual will provide team leadership that includes providing schedule adherence and alignment. Reporting to stakeholders will be required on a regular basis to ensure alignment to organizational commitments. Collaboration with platform team to ensure API/interface alignment.

Identify application/verity requirements for the platform team and collaborate with platform and application/verity teams to establish timely solutions.

Establishment of application/verity integration guidelines.

Work with L6 system teams and application/verity owners to establish software package content by product. Develop hardware resource assessments for application/verity adoption planning.

Communicate and make visible application/verity integration readiness and status.

Design reviews

Provide team support for application/verity development with teams that require additional development resources.

Education requirement:Requires a BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, or Computer EngineeringWhat skills you will have:Software Product Design/Architecture:

Demonstrated knowledge of electrical/electronic systems on Caterpillar machines

Ability to develop embedded software for electronically controlled mechanical systems. C and Linux preferred.

Capable of developing system designs and integrating on Caterpillar machines.

Capable of understanding and developing systems that utilize data link communications including ethernet based networks.

Ability to work with embedded software development tools such as ClearCase, Git, debuggers, and compilers

Effective Communications:

Ability to communicate technical information effectively with a diverse group

Demonstrated project planning, oversight and status tracking and reporting skills

Teamwork:

Ability to identify needed actions across organizational boundaries and act to resolve issues with minimal oversight

Capability to utilize the FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modes

Technical Troubleshooting:

Ability to demonstrate customer focus, analysis, and troubleshooting skills
