Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

Oversee electrostatic paint equipment

Perform preventative maintenance functions and associated processes (washer, ovens, powder rooms) to assure high yield of quality products while maintaining a clean and orderly work environment

Perform required set-ups and maintain proper settings

Control valves and observes gauges to set pressure and to control flow of coating to each station

Obtain process quality information and maintain appropriate process monitoring forms and logs

Perform general preventative maintenance on powder applicators (guns) to include monitoring powder output of each unit and correct voltage of each unit

Monitor quality-critical parameters on powder line washer and performs preventative maintenance to include nozzle cleaning tank dumps, clean-outs, chemical additions, filter changes, parts removal, and exterior cleaning

Remove parts from ovens, vacuum and perform periodic filter changes

Work from printed schedules, KanBan, work/wait boards and verbal instructions to sequence parts through paint process

Move material into work area and to downstream work centers via hand/power truck

Perform quality checks on parts and products using stand work and OMS guides

Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned including working in other departments

Follow all safety regulations for equipment use.

Perform all housekeeping tasks using 5S standards

Flexibility to work overtime as needed

Perform all tasks in a timely and accurate manner

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships

Ability to work effectively in independent situations and exercise good judgment to reach sound conclusions

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, schedules, rules, procedures, etc.

Ability to read, interpret and perform from various documents, including method sheets, assembly drawings, production reports, safety rules, printed shop schedules, blueprints, KanBan cards/boards, operating maintenance instruction and procedure manuals, etc.

Ability to properly identify components and gain extensive parts knowledge

Ability to identify and obtain appropriate parts for work station operation

Ability to use CRT and data entry technologies (bar code, key entry)

General knowledge of machinery, specifically related to areas of responsibility

Ability to judge distances, spatial relationships, and perform visual and/or mechanical inspections; ability to distinguish colors and finishes

Basic math and computer skills

Ability to perform jobs at the same or lower labor grade than current job

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control; ability to analyze run charts and other number driven production data to ensure processes are within desired limits

Must have requisite knowledge of chemicals used in operation of process; must be able to successfully pass hazardous communication, confined space, and other relevant training courses. Must be fitted and approved for respirator usage

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to frequently lift up to 5 pounds, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and rarely lift up to 60 pounds

Ability to demonstrate manual dexterity; ability to repetitively use fingers and hands to feel, handle, or squeeze; reach with hands and arms; twist/turn body; perform repetitive motions

Ability to stand, walk, and/or sit, frequently and for extended periods of time

Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl

Ability to operate industrial powered equipment within manufacturer’s height and weight requirements and guidelines for operators.

MECHANICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to use two hand palm buttons

Ability to use pneumatic tools

Ability to use testing equipment

ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Exposure to various chemicals including greases, oils, and adhesives in safe exposure amounts and approved for use in our facility by EHS

Exposure to temperature changes

Exposure to moderate noise levels with intermittent loud noises

Exposure to vibration

Exposure to dirt and/or dust

Exposure to sharp objects and parts

Exposure to moving mechanical parts, protected by approved guarding and controls

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum requirements:

High school diploma or GED

One year of related experience
