Design Technical Services (DTS) has an opening for a Quality Engineer supporting our client in Peoria, Illinois. The successful incumbent will analyze current quality trends for improvement projects.Key Responsibilities:Utilization of BIQ process to improve product quality in tractor assemblyApplication of 6 Sigma and Lean principles to improve processesSupporting Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Design engineering to sort and solve quality problemsApplication of the APQP process during the NPI cycle including the facility readiness for the programs in flightAssessment of the current Quality System process discipline and identification of projects to close gaps identifiedRequired experience:Bachelors degree in an engineering-related discipline or 5 years operations / manufacturing experienceBackground in tractor or other product machining and welding for fabrication, or background in machine assembly for assembly facilityUnderstanding of the APQP and NPI processesBackground in 6 Sigma and LeanPreferred experience:Working knowledge of the ETQ systemFamiliar with company policies and procedures with a strong department backgroundAble to build strong relationships with various stakeholdersThorough knowledge of manufacturing conceptsGood written and oral communication skills This position is located in East Peoria, IL.
