Job Description

The

Behavioral Health Associate reflects the mission, vision, and values of NMHC, adheres to the organizations Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Behavioral Health Associate, under the direction of the Manager of Outpatient Mental Health, delivers direct care to the psychiatric patient. This role effectively interacts with the patients and their support network, and with the treatment milieu to facilitate positive patient outcomes. The Behavioral Health Associate will perform these tasks in a fashion where they assure, embrace, and communicate the pledge, values and policies of NM.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in Social Work Counseling, Psychology or related field

Additional Information

This role is responsible for providing high quality services that promote optimal social, emotional, and behavioral functioning. The position is blended to support residents in their home environment in order to provide intensive case management and community support individual/group services in their natural setting. It will include assisting these residents in the community as well (e.g., accessing food pantry, medical appointments, linkage with other needed resource). This role provides services to adults suffering from Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI), which includes, but not limited to, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, and PTSD. The Behavioral Health Counselor’s office is primarily located on site at the supported residential building.
