Description We are in search of a Certified Medical Coder to become part of our team in the Non-Profit industry, located in FORT WAYNE, Indiana. In this role, you will ascertain the precision of medical coding for billing and regulatory compliance purposes. This position offers a long term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to medical diagnoses and procedures with precision Undertake a review and analysis of patient medical records to ensure proper documentation and coding Ensure adherence to current healthcare regulations and insurance guidelines Work in collaboration with healthcare professionals to clarify any documentation and coding queries Participate in audits to verify coding standards are met and identify any financial or compliance risks Keep abreast of current trends, changes, and best practices in coding Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Cerner or Epic effectively Contribute to medical billing and reimbursement processes Maintain familiarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance Utilize administrative tracking tools like Workday effectively. Requirements Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Certified Medical Coder role, preferably within the Non-Profit industry. Proficiency in using Allscripts software is a must for efficient workflow management. Adept at handling Billing Functions, with a proven track record of accuracy and timeliness. Experience in Claim Administration, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the process and regulations. Knowledge of Clinical Trial Operations is necessary, with a focus on compliance and efficiency. Expertise in Medical Coding, with an ability to quickly and accurately code a variety of medical conditions and procedures. Must hold a valid Certified Coding credential, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and adherence to industry standards.
